Our Story

How Bequest came to be

Bequest started from a straightforward observation: families dealing with the estate and records of a loved one often found themselves adrift — uncertain which papers mattered, unsure what various documents meant, and with no obvious place to start organising the pile on the table.

The people they really needed — a lawyer, a notary, a registered estate practitioner — were the right people for legal and formal steps. But those steps couldn't begin until the family had a clear picture of what they actually had. That gap, between the confusion of an unsorted collection of papers and the point where a licensed professional could begin, was where Bequest found its place.

We opened our doors in Krabi to help families move through that early, often overwhelming stage — sorting, labelling, and building a structure they could maintain and hand on. Nothing more and nothing less than that.

Our Mission

What guides our work

Stay within our lane

We are not lawyers, financial advisers, or licensed estate practitioners. We never pretend otherwise. When a matter calls for those professionals, we say so clearly and point families in the right direction.

Work with sensitivity

Estate matters often arise at difficult moments in a family's life. We move at the family's pace, treat every session as a private matter, and aim to leave people feeling calmer than when they arrived.

Educate, don't advise

Our educational sessions explain concepts as they generally apply — not as individual advice. Understanding a topic and receiving advice about a specific situation are two very different things.

Our Team

The people behind Bequest

SR

Supranee Ratchasima

KP

Kritpong Phanomchai

Education & Concepts Adviser

Kritpong leads the succession concepts education sessions. With a background in public administration and a long interest in how estate frameworks are explained to general audiences, he brings clarity to topics many find confusing.

NW

Nanthipha Watthanachai

Client Liaison & Programme Coordinator

Nanthipha coordinates the multi-session Catalogue, Archive & Wishes Programme and handles all client communications. She ensures each family's appointments run smoothly and that their archive is properly completed before handover.

Standards

How we keep our work sound

Confidentiality

Everything discussed in a session remains strictly private. We do not share family information with any third party, and we hold no copies of original documents after a session concludes.

Scope discipline

We maintain clear written descriptions of exactly what each service includes and excludes. If a question falls outside our scope, we say so and suggest where the right answer can be found.

Document stewardship

All original papers remain with the family throughout each session. We work with what is present in the room; nothing is taken away, scanned, or retained beyond the client's explicit request.

Plain communication

We write summaries, index sheets, and session notes in straightforward language. No legal jargon, no unexplained abbreviations, no assumptions about prior knowledge.

Professional referrals

When a family needs a lawyer, notary, or estate professional, we provide clear signposting toward appropriate bodies and practitioners rather than leaving them to search alone.

Ongoing refinement

We review our session materials, archive templates, and educational content regularly to reflect changes in how Thai estate administration is generally understood and communicated.

About Our Work

Estate records organisation and succession concepts education in Krabi, Thailand

Bequest operates from Pak Nam in Mueang district, Krabi — a province in southern Thailand well placed to serve both local Thai families and the many international residents who have made the region their home. We work in English and co-ordinate with Thai-speaking members of each family as needed.

Estate papers in Thailand commonly include land title documents, savings books, vehicle registration records, insurance policies, and personal identification documents. Gathering these, understanding what each one represents, and building a well-organised archive is a practical step that makes every subsequent process — whether handled by a lawyer, a court, or a government department — considerably more straightforward.

Succession matters in Thailand are governed by the Civil and Commercial Code, and the process of transferring assets after a death involves specific official bodies, timelines, and practitioners. Our education sessions describe these structures in plain language without offering individual advice — helping families arrive at their first meeting with a lawyer or Land Office official already informed and prepared.

Families who have used our Catalogue, Archive & Wishes Programme frequently tell us that the finished index alone — a clear, single document listing what exists and where — saves significant time and reduces misunderstanding among family members when the time comes to act.
